That is why we have decided to take a crucial step to understand our environment from its deepest and most vibrant foundation: the soil.
An alliance for regenerative agriculture
To begin this scientific and environmentally respectful journey, we have partnered with the Terra Viva team. Together, we have launched an exhaustive biological analysis of the soil on our estate.
The goal is as simple to explain as it is complex to execute: learning to look at the invisible. We want to fully understand everything that is not visible to the naked eye, but that sustains the entire ecosystem of our olive grove.
What are we looking for under the microscope?
The soil is not just a physical support; it is a universe in constant agitation. Through these samples, we are measuring and evaluating vital components for the health of the earth:

Fungi and bacteria: The true engineers of the subsoil, responsible for breaking down matter and making nutrients available to the olive tree.

Protozoa: Essential organisms that regulate bacterial populations and release nitrogen assimilable by plants.

Organic matter: The fuel and shelter that keeps this entire biological engine alive and active.
A strategic starting point: Improving fungal biomass
This analysis is not a simple scientific curiosity; it is the starting point of our strategic plan. In Mediterranean agricultural soils, the presence of beneficial fungi is often very depleted due to traditional practices.
Our current focus is on improving the fungal biomass of the olive grove. A balanced soil, with a good network of mycelia (fungi), will allow us to move towards a much stronger crop, capable of better retaining moisture, capturing more carbon, and naturally resisting periods of drought.
We want a more vibrant soil to achieve a more resilient olive grove.

Conscious agriculture is not based on intuition, but on attentive observation and respect for nature's timing. We apply this mantra every day on the estate:
