On June 25th, we had the opportunity to participate in a meeting organized by Curro Rodríguez, creator of the Los Aprendedores community, together with Banco Mediolanum, at Uppery Club Málaga.
A luncheon that brought together business owners and entrepreneurs from different sectors around the same table to share experiences and speak openly about growth, leadership, and the challenges that arise as a project evolves.
Rubén Gómez participated in the meeting to share his entrepreneurial journey and also present Les Seviques, our way of understanding agriculture, and some of the projects with which we continue to shape the future of the estate.
A table for sharing and learning
Industry, agriculture, hospitality, marketing, finance, or the textile sector. The participants' diverse backgrounds led to a conversation in which issues that, in one way or another, affect any business project arose.
They spoke about training, delegation, internationalization, leadership, technology, and growth, but also about the importance of being clear about where we want to take our projects.
One of the reflections shared during the meeting was precisely that growing a company is not simply about making it bigger. Growth also forces us to learn, make decisions, and adapt our way of working to each new stage.
Rubén Gómez's experience
During the conversation, Rubén explained part of his professional career. A telecommunications engineer linked to industrial organization, he began entrepreneurship at age 44 and is currently developing various projects in the industrial and agricultural sectors.
In his industrial activity, internationalization has been part of the strategy from the beginning. They currently work in seven countries, and approximately 50% of their turnover comes from abroad.
An experience that also provides knowledge and lessons when facing the growth of other projects, including Les Seviques.
Les Seviques and the future of the estate
The meeting was also an opportunity to talk about Les Seviques, our oils, and our way of understanding agriculture.
Rubén shared the evolution of a project that began to take shape in 2019 and explained some of the steps we want to take to continue growing it, including the project for our own oil mill and the desire to bring our products to new markets in the future.
There was also space to talk about the awards our oils have received, a boost to continue working and improving.
For us, growing Les Seviques means continuing to add value to what we do on the estate without losing what defines us: our bond with the land, our way of farming, and the constant search for new ways to improve.
Growing also means learning
One of the ideas that was repeated most often during the conversation was the need to continue learning as a project advances.
Training, knowing how to delegate, surrounding oneself with people who contribute knowledge, and learning from other experiences are elements that can make the difference when the time comes to face a new stage.
And that is precisely where a good part of the value of meetings like this lies: stepping out of the day-to-day for a moment, listening to other experiences, and returning to our own projects with new ideas and perspectives.
